L.A. Mama’s Brunchin’

I was 16 when I met my met my husband, 23 when I married him, pregnant at 24, and had my beautiful daughter at 25.

Motherhood, my very own creation: a little human being.  Becoming a mother has to be one of the best things that has ever happened to me, but I also realize I needed one very important thing in my life – a support system. You need it real bad. As a mother, you give up a lot of your old self…you yourself are reborn – you become a completely different person. It is then that you realize how much you need to talk to other mothers just like you: to vent and talk all things about motherhood. It is refreshing when you realize that Hey! you are not the only one going through the same things that you are. You are not the only one that was upset at their in-laws last week because they try to take over your parenting, you are not the only one that seems heartbroken at the thought of ending breastfeeding, or how it takes 2 hours longer than usual to get ready to leave the house. You realize you need these talks… you realize you need a mama tribe.

That is why “L.A. Mama Brunch” was created: because we all need a mama tribe. We all need the support and the need to be able to talk to other women going through the same exact things that you are. Why not do it over yummy food and mimosas? This past Sunday we had our very first brunch with our mama tribe. I planned this even with the founder of LA Mamacitas, Ruby Medina, from http://la-mamacita.com.  She is an amazing mama and blogger. This event went great – everybody really enjoyed each others company, and I had so much fun.  Not only did us mamas got to know each other, but our little babes also got to meet and play together as well.

I put all of the decor together and I have to say, it all came out beautiful haha. We hope to have another brunch soon! I hope to see familiar and new faces join the tribe. There is nothing better than women empowering each other. Perfection does not exist in the world of motherhood…we are all trying to succeed at it in our own special way. Thank you to all the moms that joined us and for the ones that will join us in the future. We are so lucky to have each other.

A special thank you to my photographer for the day! https://www.instagram.com/a.jmphoto/ He did such an amazing job and all the pictures came out beautifully. I couldn’t have asked for more. I will be sure to have him at all of my events.

XO, Jan
