PunkPost Valentine’s Day Party
It was summer of the year 2000. I was 10 years old and I had just graduated 5th grade. I was so excited for that summer!! Why? Because my best friend and I had agreed that we were going to write to each other all through the summer. And sure we did… letter after letter, day after day. The best part? We wrote it all in “code”: we literally came up with a creative symbol for every letter in the alphabet and then we had to decipher the code so we could read the letter. It was a good summer. Even in high school…I remember rushing to my locker to see if my friends had left me a letter in my locker. Sometimes they were 2 pages long sometimes it was a couple of sentences. I didn’t care. I loved receiving cards and I loved giving them even more. Unfortunately, letters have simply been replaced by a text message, email, and/or social media.
This is why, in celebration of Valentine’s Day, I have collaborated with my friends over at PunkPost to bring snail mail back! I couldn’t think of a more deserving person to receive such a special card like Julianna. She will forever be my little Valentine. I decorated Julianna’s room and threw a small Valentine’s party for us two. We ate some yummy cookies and put together her Valentine’s cards for her friends in school. We had so much fun and she was loving all of the pink!
Ordering a card from PunkPost was SUPER EASY! You can make an order through their app or online platform…just as fast as sending a text! You get to choose a card for any occasion and get to type out exactly what you want your card to say. From there, PunkPost will send a beautifully hand-written card, designed by one of their artists. I loved the personalization and how, at the same time, are supporting artists who create these beautiful cards. They turned my typed message into a custom, handwritten design and it was placed in the mail in less than 24 hours. You can also schedule sending cards days, weeks, and months ahead of time. You can also add a photo and confetti in the card – and of course, I added both! I wish I would’ve taken a video of Julianna when I handed her the card. She was so excited and she’s been looking at it every day since.
What will you do to personalize the next special occasion?
