Mamacitas & Mimosas 2018
I was standing in the middle of Mi Cielo Rooftop and I had to take a moment to let it all in. To look around and take a look at everything that we have worked so hard for…..it was priceless. I started sipping on my mimosa. I was still in my sweat pants and t-shirt. The backdrop was done; the couch was positioned exactly how i envisioned it…the bar cart looked beautiful. The paper mache moved with the wind. I looked at that paper; it took me more than 8 hours to cut that paper. Once I saw it displayed I knew it was all worth it. I started getting a bit emotional and got teary-eyed. Everything looked perfect.
Mamacitas and Mimosas exceeded all of my expectations. I remember last year’s event: barely 50 people made it. This year, we gathered more than 100 bad ass women. It was such a huge accomplishment that we made this shit happen. We made ALL of this happen. That Sunday went even better than what I had played it out in my mind. The night before, I went to sleep at midnight the night before. Our brand ambassador Yesica and I had gotten together to put the finishing touches in the swag bags. We were exhausted. Nonetheless, the adrenaline and energy that everyone brought that day got me on such a natural high. There was NOTHING but POSITIVE vibes. Ruby and I love hosting and connecting people – this event is the definition of exactly why we do what we do.
I feel so blessed and overly thankful to have amazing women in my life. It all started with Ruby: we met from chance and we took a chance with each other. Our brand ambassador Yesica shares the same values we are about: connecting with people. However, none of this would have been possible without all of the attendees, vendors, sponsors, etc. all you people that have trusted in us and have supported us one way or another. YOU are the reason why we are here and you are the reason why we are able to put together unforgettable events like these. I am happy that us women took a couple of hours away from home for some much needed “me” time. Sometimes we give ourselves to everyone that we forget to take care of ourselves as well. I loved seeing all of the new friendships, collaborations, and connections happen throughout the event. The event didn’t end until 3 hours later- and for the ones that stayed until then, I am so happy that I saw you dance, laugh, and embrace one another.
Once again, thank you so very much. I love you all!!!
