Hosting a Brunch
Planning a gathering can always be stressful, but I am so happy that my husband and I make such a great team! We manage to balance everything out perfectly for our get-togethers, and for our latest brunch we had at our house, this was no exception. Our brunch was so much fun and I hadn’t laughed so hard in a while! I don’t get to see my friends as much as I would want to, because, well…..life gets in the way. It was so nice to gather everyone to catch up! I wanted to give some pointers on how to have a successful and fun party!
Make it a potluck! Don’t give yourself all the stress of having food for everybody. We had a variation of yummy food; lumpias, garlic rice, pastries from Portos, waffles, bacon egg baskets, and more! That said….
Be sure to have make one main dish! You can make a charcuterie board with your favorite meats and cheeses, or you can make an impressive dish for everybody. My husband made delicious egg baskets and everyone loved them!
Mimosas!!! You must display the must-have for all brunches: mimosas! If you can make it into a mimosa bar, with mimosa toppings such as pomegranate seeds or strawberry puree, even better!
Try to have a nice seating area – set a relaxing mood for your guests to come in and feel comfortable.
Greenery is always a good and inexpensive way to go for décor. I sometimes grab greenery from my backyard. I went to Target earlier in the week and they had a bouquet of greenery on sale: score! I pulled it apart and used the greenery throughout the décor.
Try to have your statement pieces together. When you are working with a big space it can be stressful to fill it all up. Pick a section or you can get the “wow” factor.
If your brunches go as long as mine do lol you might consider having a fun game! We played Family Feud that my husband put together on our laptop. We laughed the whole time – it was so much fun!
You know you did a good job when your guests take out their phones and start taking videos and pictures of your set-up. I hope some of these pointers were useful. Let me know how do you make your gatherings special?
